Andrea Fraser’s “Untitled,” 2003, highlights the role of art commodities in mediating relations of exchange. Andrea Fraser’s “Museum Highlights: A Gallery Talk” was first presented live at the Philadelphia Museum of Art in February 1989. In this work, she conducts a tour as the fictional museum guide ‘Jane Castleton,’ where she describes commonplace objects with the same elevated language used for 17th-century Dutch paintings.
