I remember picking my first little handful of cotton when I was a little girl. It was AFTER the shock wore off from seeing a whole field of them when I was with my grandfather. I thought "they" were still in the business of slavery when I saw the field. 🤯 Grandfather explained it to me and let me bring home a handful of cotton that I shared with my class a few days later. I'll never forget that experience. Especially learning how actual cotton looked, felt and how it was to pick it. #cottonfiel
