Based on a 1990 painting by the same title, the playful scene depicts a Blue Dog in a box situated in a classic Rodrigue landscape. The painting pays homage to Rodrigue’s real life dog, Tiffany, who was originally brought home to the Rodrigue family in a box. The Blue Dog in a box can also be understood as a larger metaphor for Rodrigue’s work.
