Quartet KAIRI has won Third Prize at the Banff International String Quartet Competition Here, they perform Shostakovich’s String Quartet in C Minor, Op. 110 Comprising violinists Taiga Sasaki and Yu Mita, violist Jiliang Shi, and cellist Hotaka Sakai, KAIRI will receive an $8,000 CAD cash prize and a creative residency at Banff Centre including coaching and mentorship opportunities. // STRING QUARTET 2023 - ONLINE RECITAL // The 77th Concours de Genève String Quartet Competition is starting next week! For this first round, string quartets had to produce a 50-minute recital. Their video recordings will be streamed virtually from 18-20 September on the competition's YouTube Channel & website, as well as on theviolinchannel.com. At the end of the Online Recital, the Jury will select six quartets to continue to the semi-final round; results will be announced on September 21st.
