Small tip for you guys. Those blocks just have 2 pin nails thru em and they are the length of my reveal. Not only do they line up top and bottom boxes perfectly along with the perfect reveal but since i always glue the back boxes i dont have to slide it around and make a mess i just line em up and slap. Just tacked in for spray. Ive had a bad history with painters, from them calling it a day from 2 proud nails i left, to them spilling paint leaving it and blaming it on me. Finally been working with a good painter so i want to make his life easier in anyway i can, because i know he will do the same, and i think the end result will show. The tenon goes in 2 1/2 inches,gets glued clamped both ways and trim head screw at bttm just for sh¡ts and giggles. The ballusters are double dowel, looks cleaner than a plow and definetly a bit sturdier.
