At the beginning of this month, Wild Horse Connection’s Nevada rescue volunteers spotted a one-day-old foal who had become separated from her mom. The volunteers watched her move from mare to mare in an attempt to nurse, without success. The little foal tried to keep up with the roaming band - but soon she was overcome with exhaustion and dehydration. She laid down on the ground to sleep. As she slept, the bands continued on. Several days ago, a young filly named Holly G became separated from her family inside of a fenced area. After several attempts to access her, volunteers trained in rescue ultimately set up a chute and were able to successfully load her into a trailer. In the meantime, other volunteers were searching for her band and thankfully found her family nearby. They closed the horses into an area temporarily so a reunification could occur.
