Every workshop day brings a tiny mystery, and today, whilst crafting an Anglo-Saxon Birstall Urn, a carved antler stamp rolled off the table and disappeared into the void. Somewhere in the studio, there is a decorative stamp living its best life. It reminded me of how many ancient objects are hidden in our landscape, walked over and passed by for millennia, hidden surprises perhaps that will one day be unearthed.
