Randy's Neoclassical approach was very different to certain other guitarists associated with the genre. Paul Gilbert described it well when comparing Randy & Yoghurt, suggesting that one sounds more aggressive (like pirates slashing at each other), while the other sounds more regal (like a journeying lord & horse trotting about the land). Rhoads tended to double or triple his lead parts, so it made sense that his phrasing was more structured & repeatable. I think it also made it more accessible
