I sobbed on the drive home after my son’s first pediatrician check up. I’ve never needed an ASL interpreter for doctor’s visits because I can hear with my cochlear implant. But I didn’t expect how much harder it would be to hear and understand when I had a crying baby in the room. I struggled to hear the pediatrician and I even stood up for myself and asked her to speak louder because I am Deaf with a cochlear implant (which I RARELY do!) My husband helped interpret for me, not the whole time, j
