The Alabama Department of Human Resources (ADHR) announced purchases made in stores outside of Alabama or online on EBT cards will be blocked beginning Jan. 22 in an effort to combat fraud. Between May 2023 to December 20, 2024, the department replaced $15.9 million of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, benefits that were fraudulently stolen from recipients.
